Parking Lot Light - Another classic Enchanted Ceiling submission. Walking into work this morning I took a few shots. Tried to mix it up a little and highlight the parking lot lights as a reference point instead of the line of pines I usually use. I'll probably post at least one more from this series later. Ever since I found out about this web site (from some one in one of these photo memes) I have been looking up whenever I go outside. The beauty of the sky is something that we all take for granted. Everyday Things - I was going to submit a macro image of my keyboard because that is pretty much an everyday thing, but when I looked at the photos I realized how dirty it was. So instead of grossing you out with minute unidentified food particles blown up to boulder-sized proportions, I took a picture of the dawn this morning on the way in from my parking space at work. Last Enchanted Ceiling of 2007 - I waited too long to take this picture, so all that was left was shooting straight up off the back deck. The stars have a slight streaky quantity not because of any long exposure, but more from me stepping on one of the deck boards supporting the tripod. (12/31/07)

TGIF - Thank God It's Friday. It is the end of the workweek and to make it even better Donna and I only had to work 4 hours today. This morning's sunrise was a perfect match for our mood. Took this picture in the parking lot at work on the way in from the car. I almost used it for PhotoFriday's Patterns, but I used those birds on a wire. (11/19/04)
Streak - Too big to be a contrail, so it must have been formed by a natural line of water vapor in the morning sky. Turned bright orange by the rising sun. (12/10/05)

Simplicity 2 - Like the last time this was the word/theme/challenge all I could think of was dress making patterns and we still didn't have any of those hanging around the house. So here is an image I took last Sunday morning on our walk around the neighborhood. The sky was quite interesting because about 150 miles to the southeast tropical storm Gaston was coming ashore near Charleston, SC. It is my Enchanted Ceiling submission #7. (08/29/04)
Simple - Sunsets are always a crowd pleaser, but I prefer sunrise and morning skies with their promise of new beginnings. Simply beautiful blue and white clouds. Silhouette 2 - The silhouette of the trusses that hold up VQ-1's hanger roof in the setting Guamian sun. They stick way up in the air so that there is a big ol' high ceilinged space so that EP-3As and EA-3Bs can be brought indoors to be worked on. (06/??/76)

Luscious - I can tell spring is on the way because it is no longer dark on the way to work anymore. Today was the first day that I actually didn't need the headlights on. It is also the time of the year when I am fond of snapping sky pictures on the way into work while walking across the parking lot from our usual north-forty spot. Landscape - This was taken about 15 years ago from somewhere in NJ. Now, whenever someone uses the NYC skyline as a backdrop they are careful to use just mid-town so the Empire State Building is featured prominently. I wish they would still show lower Manhattan, no WTC towers and all. Let those terrorists know we are still proud of that part of the city even if it has been forever changed. Not only that, keep featuring the Empire State Building and you can bet that will be tempting some low life's to knock it down somehow. Probably plotting how right now. (06/??/88)

Dark Sky - Taken last Friday morning in the work parking lot on the way in. Ivan was moving north, a ways west of us, causing some dark and fast moving clouds to fill the sky. We got a little rain, but not much else from this storm, others to the west and then north of us were not so lucky. (09/17/04)

Comic Book Sky - Will gets a good storm sky to photograph and all I get is a couple of clouds. We took a short cruise on the Augusta Canal this afternoon with some folks from the Peachtree Miata Club who had driven over for the weekend. The skies were nearly devoid of clouds, but what were there looked like they belonged in a comic book. (10/16/04)

Asian Buffet - Taken just outside the restaurant the Master's Miata Club was meeting at a couple of Thursdays ago. The frugal owners of the this dining establishment have taken to illuminating alternate words on their sign each night, tomorrow BUFFET will be lit and ASIAN will be dark. OK, you got me, I just made that up. All the neon has probably leaked out of the bottom word or a transformer is bad or whatever. (03/05/09)
