Like our trip all over the state of South Carolina to capture an image of every Post Office in the state, the one for Oregon will differ in a couple ways. 1) We are thinking that we aren’t going to chase every single one in the bigger towns, like for instance, Portland’s 2 dozen. And 2) Every single one of them may not have the same automobile in the photos, it might be a Miata or it might be a Mini Cooper.
Eagle Creek - 97055
Eagle Creek - Going from Sandy to Eagle Creek was a blast. Narrow twisty 2-lane roads that at times reminded me of northwest South Carolina and at others it felt very Pacific Northwest. (11/17/24)
Eagle Point - 97524
We were disappointed not to have stumbled onto Eagle Point's most famous resident, cannabis growing Jim Belushi, while in town. (9/8/2023)
Fairview - 97024
My current home base post office. (10/06/24)
Fort Klamath - 97626
A small community between Crater Lake National Park and Upper Klamath Lake named after a military outpost near the western end of the Oregon Trail. (8/30/20)
Fort Rock - 97635
Fort Rock - Took this after quickly visiting the state park day use area to look at what is left of an extinct volcano that was in a prehistoric lake that is extinct as the volcano. (9/18/2023)
Giilchrist - 97737
This town is so small the mice are hunchbacked (really old joke), but seriously, how they have a P.O. at all with the one in Crescent just 1-1/2 miles away is a mystery. (07/01/22)
Glendale - 97442
I was parked further forward next to the green building, but as soon as I crossed the street to take the photo, the car that was behind me left, so I crossed back over and backed the car in front of the P.O., walked back across, took the photo, and then returned to the car. Because it is a real same town there was near zero traffic on the road. (10/04/21)
Gold Hill - 97525
According to the locals, a gold assay office built in the area in 1904 slid from its foundation in the early teens, coming to rest at an odd angle. Odd angles seem to create an illusion of objects seemingly rolling uphill. We stopped, took this picture and rolled right out of town. (10/04/21)
Grants Pass - 97525
Grants Pass is the Josephine County seat and was named in honor of General U.S. Grant’s 1863 victory at Vicksburg,. (10/04/21)
Grass Valley - 97029
In 1870 the town's founder named such because of the tall rye grass growing there. “Grass so tall that it stood over a man’s head,” one early settler said, “even when he was on a horse!” (07/01/23)
Gresham - 97030
This is the largest suburb of Portland and its borders practically surround my home town of Fairview. (10/06/24)
