The last track I need to post that finishes up what I considered of or pertaining to the most perfect embodiment of a CD mix in December 2004. I was always a fan of Cat Stevens and bought four in a row of his early albums, starting with “Tea for the Tillerman.” Because it was the early 70’s they were in fact albums and most likely purchased from the infamous Columbia Record Club. When I sold all my albums in the late 80’s and converted to CDs I purchased his “Footsteps in the Dark: Greatest Hits, Vol. 2”.1 This CD included two never released songs that from the cult classic movie Harold and Maude, Don’t Be Shy and this one:

Although from looking at the title and the images in this video you almost believe that Tanita Tinkaram is of American Indian descent, but in actuality she was was born in Münster, Germany, the daughter of a Indian-Fijian British Army officer and a Malaysian mother. This song is from her 1988 debut album Ancient Heart and I still occasionally hear this song on Radio Paradise.

While never really big fans of the Eagles, I did own a copy of their 1976 seminal album “Hotel California.” Fourteen years after they broke up in 1980, they reunited for an MTV special entitled “Hell Freezes Over“. They performed mostly acoustic versions of 11 of their greatest hits (5 of which came from the Hotel California album) and 4 new tracks written specifically just for this live concert.
