This would be a great car to take on those days when you do not know if you are coming or going.

By the way, have you considered keeping the Emperor and just buying the next car outright? They probably don’t really give you anything for the trade-in anyway. I know it involves a parking problem but it has worked out for me so far. I could not give up the 2004 soft-top even though I was buying the 2010 retractable hard-top. While similar, these cars have different personalities.

Maybe I just have a problem letting go but the 2004 is in really great shape and my wife Linda wants to drive it too.

    • The plan has always been to keep the Miata, once we decided not to go with the NC version of the car, so the new car will indeed be a second vehicle.

I would have expected the NC to have a different personality, the NB does from my first two NAs. The Emperor rode a lot smoother and was bit more refined than the ’95 it replaced and the 2006 we test drove a ways back felt bigger and smother still, so I kiddingly mention to Donna that it seems that the Miata was growing up along with us.
