I drove down to Oregon’s capital city to take photos of the 7 Post Offices that are labeled as being in Salem. I’m staying at a hotel, so that I can get up and take the photos early on Sunday morning. I took pictures of 5 post offices in small towns along the route on the way down.
Turns out that one of the five was actually one of the Salem post offices. And interestingly enough, the fifth was a separate town, but it was more Salem-ish than the #4 post office.
- Love the signage on this small town post office that is right off OR99E. (12/7/24)
- The next town south from Hubbard along OR99E is Woodburn and at 25,000 souls seemed positively huge. (12/7/24)
- This was my 3rd post office of the day and it finally dawned on me the reason that all the post offices had their flags at half-mast. So much for the day living in infamy thing, at least in my mind. (12/7/24)
- Brooks – Based on its location I wouldn’t have guessed that this was a Salem post office. (12/7/24)
- This was in a shopping center in one corner of two very busy roads. When I went to leave I wanted to turn left and after sitting there for about 15-20 seconds I realized that it would be suicide to try the left turn. I turned right and went a ways until I could do a U-turn. (12/7/24)
