On the way back home from today’s road trip the Miata passed through the 131,000 mile mark. Not too long after that we passed by this cute little Post Office in Oliver, GA and just had to stop.
The Emperor visited the racetrack today, but purely as a spectator. We drove down to watch fellow MMC member John Haff of POS Racing ply his trade at Roebling Road Raceway. There were two other cars with us for the breakfast run to the Lake Restaurant in Waynesboro, one continued on with us and one went home. We were met at the track an hour or so later by another member who didn’t want to get up that early for breakfast. Or anything else for that matter.
Started up, went down, went up, still up.

I’ve been out of the loop for awhile and came back to check up on what I missed. When I saw the picture of your car I noticed the difference. Your new wheels look great. Are they heavier? I know it does not make that much difference since you do not race.

I went from 15″ to 16″ or back to the size that came on the car. They are 3 lbs heavier than original stock wheels and 5 lbs heavier than the 15″ I had on the car. I don’t notice any performance issues, but they do feel different (heavier) when running over rod imperfections (pot holes, manhole covers, railroad tracks) but not annoyingly so.
I went for style over function and I am very happy over the look from the plain-jane OEM wheels. A bit harder to keep clean, but the gunmetal color helps in that respect…
