The Folks in the MMC don’t know it yet, but tonight is Donna and my last Club meeting. Regular readers will remember that a couple months ago I was virtual car shopping, well we have decided on a car. It was not on the original list in either category because it fell outside the theoretical budget limit, and if recent events have taught us anything it is you only live once, so you might as well enjoy yourself while you can.
The local dealer didn’t have what we wanted, but a quick search turned up almost a perfect match, satellite radio instead of the Ip Odd interface, in Charleston, SC. We will be able to pick it up on Friday at Taylor BMW in Augusta. With trading in the Emperor, $2k additional down, we ended up financing $28,000 @ 3.95% or $475 a month for the next 6 years…

Congrats, an excellent choice! Just prior to our Miata, we had an ’01 325 Convertible for a couple years. It was a beautiful car, just more than we needed once my Dad passed away. I’ve always said I’ll probably buy another one day.
Funny enough when we were at the BMW dealer yesterday getting a free car wash & having lunch (ahh, the perks of BMW-family ownership, LOL), it was the 1 series I was most attracted to (The 3 series has “grown” too much for my taste; we still prefer small and sporty!) You’ll love the gray leather, especially with that blue; ours was white with a dark blue soft top and gray leather – stunning! Looking forward to your review.
BTW, hope Donna is just about back to normal by now.

Brian…if this isn’t an April Fool’s joke, congrats on your purchase, and welcome to the world of BMW! Like your previous poster stated, the perks that go along with BMW are wonderful. As the new BMW ad campaign states….JOY! 🙂

Ladies, it was indeed an April Fool’s Joke. I started out with my dream BMW convertible, an M6 in Interlagos Blue, but figured no one would believe I could afford $122k, so I brought it down to something that is actually in the realm of possibility. And at 172″ long & 76″ wide the 1 Series would actually fit in the garage with a little rearranging.

D’oh…I walked right into that one! Never even occurred to me until I read Carol H.’s post, LOL! And you’re right, the M6 would have been a dead give-away. 😉

Since it was April 1st, I was suspicious, but you were pretty convincing with all your details. Hope you and Donna have a nice Easter!

Thought you had gotten in Donna’s medicine there for a minute.
