How Long Can They Keep This Up?

The Sox and Yanks are playing baseball this evening and for some reason the FRS are winning. And not only tonight, they have beaten the MFY the other 5 games they have played so far this season. I hated to say anything for fear of jinxing it and they’ll probably get their butts kicked tomorrow night while I’m watching the game on ESPN, but it feels pretty good.

I’ve been putting off washing the car for a couple weeks now because they keep calling for rain, well I couldn’t stand it any longer, so I washed the car tonight. So it will probably pour tomorrow, but the joke will be on Mother Nature because the car will be in the garage all day, we are riding the tandem to work….wait a minute then the joke will be on us anyway.

Rusty

An old man in his mid-eighties struggles to get up from the couch then starts putting on his coat.
His wife, seeing the unexpected behavior, asks, “Where are you going?”
He replies, “I’m going to the doctor.”
She says, “Why, are you sick?”
He says, “Nope, I’m going to get me some of that Viagra stuff.”

Immediately the wife starts working and positioning herself to get out of her rocker and begins to put on her coat…
He says, “Where the heck are you going”?
She answers, “I’m going to the doctor, too.”
He says, “Why, what do you need?”
She says, “If you’re going to start using that rusty old thing, I’m getting a Tetanus shot..”

If I thought keeping a meeting together for the Miata Club with 18 attendees was hard, try it with about 75 geocachers, like herding cats in a thunderstorm.

I have now eaten at the Golden Corral twice in the last three days and if I never eat there again it will be too soon.

Half Cached Weekend

We were one for two yesterday in Aiken and 4 for 8 today in Florence and on the way back. Technically it was really 7 we searched for. There was one that you could complete without really finding the first stage, but we misread the requirements for the second stage and then didn’t really try to find the first because of the description and location.

760 Peektures

I have been monkeying around transferring all the galleries I have on the site from my old gallery software to a WP plug in called NextGEN Gallery.

All the titles and captions were in a text file and they have to be cut and pasted into a form on the new gallery page. I’m also trying to make them all consistent with title – caption – and date taken. All had a title, some had captions, while others had a date and a lucky few had all three.

I’m getting there, probably have 90% done, but that is only of the 760 pictures that are not of Post Offices. There is another 453 of them.

92,000 Noodles

Tonight was the monthly MMC meeting and we gathered at a place called River House in North Augusta. It is a Thai restaurant with some “American” food on the menu to please the unadventurous.

Donna got the Pad Thai and I got the N-3 (which means it was four small words that had an odd, to my eyes, combination of letters that I didn’t even try to pronounce) which was a dish of ground beef and vegetables in a mild curry sauce over rice noodles. Both meals were delicious and plentiful enough that we only ate half and brought the other half home for tomorrow’s dinner.

It has been a rainy day, but we tried to go to and come home from work with the top down anyway because when we started each trip it wasn’t actually raining. Both times we didn’t even get halfway before having to put the top up. After the car club meeting it wasn’t raining, so naturally we put the top down for the ride home not expecting to make it, but we did. I did put the top back up at home when we got in the garage because it was pretty wet when it was folded back in North Augusta.

Just as we approached the restaurant the Emperor ticked past the ninety-two thousand mile mark.

Trek Yourself

CaptainRomulanDidn’t have a clue what I was going to blog about until I checked io9 and found Trek Yourself. Perfect, a picture with a few words and I’m done. You get to pick a character, Captain, Vulcan, Officer (female) or Romulan then upload a picture. That’s when things took a turn for the worse, the tips for what kind of picture to upload; No hair on face, no hats or glasses, eyes open and mouth closed. I’ve worn glasses for the last 10 years and have had a beard for over 35. I first used one from 1974 when I just had a mustache for the Captain. That’s the result you see to the left. What the heck are they going to do, kick me out of Starfleet Academy? So I uploaded a more recent photo with beard, sunglasses and a hat for the Romulan. That’s the one to the right.
