  1. Not being a slave to a calendar, I go by “tax time.” When it’s 4/15 the Miata comes out of storage and braves the still-weak sun. One week before Thanksgiving and back she goes in for hibernation.

You guys sure have it nice ‘n easy (smile)

PS — how do you work the pedals wearing the Timberlands you just bought? I _always_ wear my oh-so-chic-and-nimble Gucci loafers in Cordovan (a tribute to Ricardo Montalban and the iconic Cordoba).

  2. If it is spring these must be early “April Showers” because today has been a total washout. And because I washed the Miata yesterday, when we went weekly grocery shopping this morning we used the OTM.

It has always been a squeeze under the dash for my size 10-1/2 shoe, but after driving a Miata for the last 16 years I’ve gotten pretty good at knowing the limitations of foot movement.

Well, after 3+ months of drought here in north Texas, we got drenched over the weekend with over 4″ in a 24-hour period. I just stood outside and got soaked, and loved every minute of it. Regarding Miata-driving footwear, my 11-D’s work best in deck shoes or huarache sandals made of Italian leather. Timberlands!!! — Beyond the realm of possibility for this Bigfoot.

  4. Let me clarify a bit. The Timberlands are my work shoe, so they are only worn driving during my 6 mile commute. After work and weekends my feet are are strictly running shoe shod. I have considered getting some sort of casual/driving combination shoe, but have yet to find that hybrid in something I like.
