Used to be that what you looked like didn’t much matter if you were a musician, if your music was beautiful, that was all it took. Look at Mick Jagger (then or now) or Merle Haggard. The 4 mopheads from Liverpool were in need of serious dental work. But now with MTV, etc. you have to look good to make it now a days.
The latest Rolling Stone magazine came in the mail and there on the cover is a picture of Shania Twain in a cheap trash looking outfit set on stun. The verbiage reads, “Shania Twain. She knows what you like…” Boy howdy. We want good looking women, scantily clad, singing just to us. I’m as susceptible to this as the next man. I’ll never forget the first time I saw her (I think first) video where she is wearing that red dress singing about boots or something, I watched a lot of CMT waiting to see that again, and I don’t really like country music.
I’m as guilty as the next for bringing on the death of ugly singers. And I’d like to apologize.
